Welcome to the Menahga Area Historical Society and Museum

The Menahga Area Historical Society, a non-profit organization incorporated in 1987, was formed for the purposes of preserving the history of the rich cultural heritage of the Menahga area and the establishment of a museum for the enjoyment of the general public.

After three years of fundraising, collection of artifacts of historic value to the area, design and construction of the building, the doors of the Menahga Area Historical Museum were swung open to the public in the spring of 1990. Since that date, generous donations of both funds and items of historic interest have enabled the Historical Society to maintain and continually enhance a museum that is the pride of local residents and a rewarding, fascinating stop for tourists visiting the Menahga area.
